Brian Barone


Dr. Brian Barone is a 2004 graduate of The Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. He was born and raised in Azle Texas. After graduating from vet school, Dr. Barone worked full time at two different mixed animal practices in Jacksonville followed by a few years doing independent relief work in Lufkin and the surrounding areas. In 2012 Dr. Barone joined the staff at a busy emergency clinic in Longview Texas where he remained, until a long standing desire to return to his home town led him to purchase Gieb Veterinary Clinic(now Walnut Creek Veterinary Hospital) from Dr. James Gieb in June of 2014.

Melissa Bauer


Dr. Bauer is a 2016 graduate of the Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. As a full time associate, she brings a unique energy and enthusiasm to Gieb Veterinary Clinic. She has proven to be an exemplary doctor showing incredible compassion and the highest standards of care. Clients and patients love her! She has 2 dogs she takes hiking, jogging and exploring! They are professionals at holding the couch down though! She is also owned by 2 kitties she loves very much and they run the household, Stella and Favre.

Julie Coffey


Julie was raised in Texas but born in the High Desert of California. She has been a veterinary technician for 17 years and has worked under some of the best in the field. She graduated from Weatherford College with her Applied Sciences degree in Veterinary Technology, Equine Production and Management, a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional and pursuing her Certified Veterinary Practice Manager degree. She has worked with both large and small animals in mixed practices, having a special interest in surgical medicine. In her spare time she likes to do anything outdoors including horseback riding, time on or around bodies of water, attending concerts and traveling because, quote, ” I suffer from the wanderlust disease”. Owned by 2 Blue Heelers and a Belgian Malinois, bossed around by a couple of cats one of which she adopted from the clinic and loved on by her horse friends.

Melony Lujan

Melony, originally from Marfa, TX relocated to Weatherford in 2000. She started her career with animals by volunteering at a local shelter and developed her passion with animals and knew what she wanted to do in life! She is graduate from Weatherford College in the Veterinary Assistant Certification and worked as a kennel manager for 7 years and eventually moved up into be a technician. While working at the shelter, she realized “Maybe if pet owners were more educated about their pets care and behaviors, there might be a smaller number of animals in the shelter”! Melony is our resident anal gland expression expert and ear plucking extraordinaire! Her real interests are Animal Behavior and Surgical procedures. Her family includes her love and 3 sons, 1 of which is currently a student at Sul Ross, pursing a life with animals included and her 3 dogs. Missy the oldest and most alpha dog in the house, what Missy wants, Missy gets! Anubis her black German Sheperd and her recently adopted Skyler. She loves to read in her spare time, when she can find the time!

Shandel Miller

Shandel is originally from Weatherford and moved to Springtown 11 years. She has a great love for animals and loves to help them. Her favorite thing to see in the clinic is watching a dental procedures because she went to Dental Assisting school. She too has a busy household with 3 dogs and 3 horses. Her personal interests are rodeos, barrel racing and the lake! Her barrel horse takes up most of her time and something loves to do when she isn’t working!

Kristin Carney-Anderson

Kristin was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska and moved here with her husband and son in 2016. She graduated from Northeast Community College for her degree in veterinary technology and did her internship at the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo! She aspires to visit all the zoo’s in the world and would love to rehabilitate wildlife in the future. She has a very active household and definitely kept the doctors and staff on their toes as we never know what kind of critter she is going to bring in with her! 3 dogs, 6 cats, a horse, 12 ducks, 16 chickens, 7 goats and 13 sugar gliders. BUT those numbers are always subject to change!

Katelyn Williams

Katelyn grew up in a family that always had animals and that is where her love of pets stems. She always knew she wanted to help animals and knows that God called her to help and protect His creatures. She worked at PetsHotel for 4 years as a pet care specialist and recently graduated with her Associates of Arts. Her interests are to ensure the welfare and health of pets by educating the owners for a better quality of life. She and her husband live in Springtown with their 3 dog children, Storm, Theia, and Xena! When she is not working she enjoys reading, relaxing with her puppies, hiking, camping with her husband and dogs, and any chance she gets, she will play volleyball.

Janet Steed

Janet is originally from California and relocated to Texas for a job opportunity. She was in the corporate world and decided to spend time with animals and finds its enjoyable and rewarding. She has a history in customer service and computer software, eventually deciding animals are better! She loves spending time with patients in the clinic. Working with our family she has been given the opportunity to learn more about health issues and animal behaviors. Janet has to sister black labs, Aja and Indigo, both 4 years old and completely dedicated to each other. Her time outside of the clinic, she enjoys cooking, reading, meeting new people and learning new things.
